Watchstanders in the Coast Guard Sector North Carolina command center in Wilmington received a call from the 73-foot commercial fishing vessel Capt Alex at about 8:47 p.m., reporting the vessel's captain was experiencing severe chest pains approximately six miles east of Hatteras Inlet. LOS ANGELES — The Coast Guard assisted two individuals after their boat began taking on water Saturday, near Anacapa Island.At approximately 12:30 p.m. the Coast Guard received a call via VHF radio ch 16 from a 20-foot pleasure craft reporting that the vessel was taking on water.A Coast Guard Auxiliary boat crew was in the area and overheard the distress broadcast and reported to the scene and began to provide immediate assistance the boaters.  The Coast Guard immediately launched a 45-foot Response Boat-Medium crew from Station Channel Islands Harbor to assist.... NEW ORLEANS – Coast Guard Sector Mobile has established a security zone in the port of Mobile, Alabama, that will go into effect on October 24, 2016, for the transit of the cruise ship Azamara Quest. The security zone will encompass 100 yards of the cruise ship as it transits shoreward of the Mobile Sea Buoy and within 25 yards once it is safely moored at the Mobile Alabama Cruise Terminal.    All recreational and commercial vessels will be prohibited from entering the security zone without express permission from the Captain of the Port, Mobile. ...
